Have you experienced sitting in your car, waiting for a train to cross your path? Where you are trying to get to is just beyond the railroad tracks but something is between you and your destination that requires you to wait?
I live near railroad tracks. In my first experiences waiting at the train crossing, I was annoyed in the wait. I have to get to work! Why did they schedule a train to come thru here during rush hour? But guess what? That didn’t make the train move any faster! It only caused me stress. Thankfully, I adjusted and chose to see that with the world around me at a forced standstill, this could be a powerful time for me to surrender, be internally still and do some important self-exploration.
Just as the passing train blocked my vision of what was ahead, I felt limited by significant transitions at work, in relationships, and with my home. The way things used to be no longer existed. And not being able to see what was on the other side of my transition triggered some fear. A transition is an opportunity to identify and overcome fear, and to get better at dealing with uncertainty.
Sitting in my car, waiting for the train to pass reminded me of the importance of being aware of what I’m creating while waiting. When we’re in transition it’s a great time to reexamine our present way of being, and see if it’s serving us in where we want to go.
I had heard the saying, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” Sitting at the tracks seemed a perfect time to rehearse my future. I am grateful that I have close meaningful connections in my life. I am grateful all my needs will be provided for and that I am protected by angels watching over me, that my every step is secure. I receive multiple streams of provision so I can fulfill all that is in my heart. May this or better.
Where in your life are you in transition? What are you creating with your thoughts? Do you know how to go through a transition well?
As the barriers finally lifted and the train faded into the distance, I felt grateful for this experience and ready to continue my journey.
If you’re going thru a life transition and want support in creating your next season with intention, let’s talk!
